A week of contemporary dance, artistic exploration, nature, and community in the heart of Puglia

July 16–20, 2027

In the heart of Puglia, nestled in the tranquility of nature and just a few kilometers from the sea, the ONE SHOT! Festival was created as a space dedicated to artistic exploration through the body.

It is not just a festival, but an immersive experience where you can explore your creative potential and engage with international professionals. You’ll work closely with them to refine your movement and your artistic and expressive language.

Dance, landscape, and connection come together, offering the time needed to slow down, deepen your practice, and let yourself be transformed by the creative process

ARTISTIC DIRECTION

ONE SHOT! Festival is directed and coordinated by Monica Secco and Bruno Catalano.

The festival is organized and supported by Artemovimento – Turin Choreographic Research Center.

Although they take different approaches, Monica and Bruno share the same vision: to cultivate a lively, authentic, and mindful stage presence, focusing on the quality of movement and the power of the performer’s presence. Their paths intertwine and complement one another, offering participants diverse tools to nurture their creativity.

Monica will lead an exploration of the dialogue between the body and the environment through somatic work and instant composition—elements that deeply characterize her creative process. The focus will be on listening, perception, and the ability to allow oneself to be transformed by one’s surroundings.

Bruno will explore the relationship with others using partnering and contact techniques as a foundation for trust, play, and complicity. The bodies will become a space for mutual listening, capable of generating infinite possibilities for connection and creation.

The convergence of these two perspectives will offer each participant the opportunity to embark on a comprehensive, personal, and deeply transformative artistic journey through:

-somatic movement

-instant composition

-partnering

-improvisation

-stage presence

-creativity

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The Festival is open to dancers and movement artists of all kinds (physical theater, circus, social dance, martial arts, etc.).

It is important that participants be familiar with their own bodies and feel comfortable interacting physically with others, including through physical contact.

Monica Secco conducts research that intertwines somatic movement, instant composition, New Dance, and the performing arts. Her practice invites participants to traverse sensory landscapes in which the body becomes a site of perception, transformation, and creation.

Through tools derived from somatic practices, her work cultivates a deep bodily awareness, from the cells to the organs and on to movement in space.

The focus is on listening, on the relationship between the body and the environment, and on the ability to inhabit the present with sensitivity. The research then evolves toward instant composition: drawing inspiration from Rudolf Laban’s principles of movement, participants construct performative landscapes in which gesture, imagination, and dramaturgy emerge from the encounter with the group and with the space. A journey dedicated to discovering one’s own poetic language, in relation to oneself, others, and nature.

Monica Secco is an author, choreographer, and performer. Her artistic practice spans contemporary dance, auteur dance, and performance art, with a perspective deeply rooted in somatic movement, experiential anatomy, and the creative practices of new dance. She trained in New York and Paris and has been dancing since 1998 in numerous national and international contexts, including major museums and unconventional venues. In 2002, she founded the Artemovimento choreographic research center in Turin, which is recognized for its educational programs. In addition to Monica and the permanent faculty, the center collaborates with choreographers and dancers from the international arts scene, including Bruno Catalano, Nicoletta Cabassi, Enzo Cosimi, Marie Coquille, Doriana Crema, Nina Dipla, Marcella Fanzaga, Roberto Lun, Marigia Maggipinto, Virgilio Sieni, Giorgio Rossi, and Giacomo Volpengo.

Bruno Catalano presents a workshop centered on partnering and physical contact as tools for artistic exploration and connection. Through technical and improvisational exercises, the workshop fosters trust, mutual listening, and a heightened sense of presence. The body becomes a shared space for dialogue, play, and collaboration, capable of generating new compositional and performative possibilities. The focus is on building an authentic, dynamic, and mindful stage presence, in which technique and expressiveness mutually reinforce one another.

Bruno Catalano is a performer, choreographer, dance instructor, and artistic director of the Zurich-based company PiccoliProduction. He graduated from ArtEZ University of the Arts in 2003. From 2010 to 2018, he served as choreographer for the youth theater group AG Theater Rämibühl in Zurich. During the same period, he collaborated on two opera productions for Opernverein Zürich and created a performance for the Zurich-based theater company Theater Hora. For over fifteen years, PiccoliProduction has actively contributed to Zurich’s cultural scene, presenting its works at major venues dedicated to the performing arts, including Gessnerallee, Rote Fabrik, Tanzhaus Zürich, Helmhaus, and Kunstraum Walcheturm. In recent years, the company has also developed international projects and productions, working in Argentina and India, among other places. Between 2024 and 2025, Bruno Catalano participated as a performance artist in the major Marina Abramović retrospective at the Kunsthaus Zürich.

Alongside his artistic work, he is actively involved in teaching on an international level. For many years, he has taught in Switzerland and abroad at prestigious dance academies and institutions, including HF Bühnentanz, Tanzhaus Zürich, Espacio LEM, École des Sables, ArtEZ University of the Arts, SEAD – Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance, Danscentrumjette, the Iceland University of the Arts in Reykjavík, and the Danish National School of Performing Arts (DDDSK).
